"The friendships, bonds made, and experiences. Our recent Transatlantic was amazing and we can't wait to book another trip"

"Thank YOU for organizing such an unforgettable trip. I will say nothing different than what others are already saying, but I will say this. When we first booked the cruise the focus was Japan/Korea. I did a lot of research about things to see, taste, book and experience. However now that we are back and the “short” 2-week cruise is over I can honestly say that this trip was life changing. I never used that word. We had fabulous trips, amazing, spectacular… but life changing?? Well… I don’t know about that. And now this trip shifted something in me and it has nothing to do with Japan. Obviously Japan is fantastic and different, but no country can compare to the connections, the community and the friendships that we fostered. I’ve never experienced that and I’m still in trans. We have a teen boy (shy at first but blossoms with the right people). He really had the time of his life (also fall in love lol) they were 11 teens (some of them not from the group but just from the cruise) and they were inseparable! I mean… non stop, constantly together, all day and dancing at night There was NO drama, no bullying, no weirdness, no nothing!!! I’ve never seen anything like it. WE FOUND OUR PEOPLE (I’m crying happy tears writing this). I just want our group moving-in together in the same neighborhood walking distance from each other and then cruising together again and again… ahhh utopia If I could book all the cruises I think I need a job … what a horrible conclusion Remote, exciting, six-figure and part time So, again - thank you for this truly unforgettable experience which words are not enough to describe the feelings that I have"

"We are so happy that we found out about the amazing cruise we took with Elena! The entire process was smooth sailing! Our family of four had an amazing time and made such wonderful memories. We are now in love with cruising and can’t wait to take another trip."

"We made it across the Pacific Ocean from San Francisco to Sydney, Australia! This journey has been nothing short of amazing—filled with relaxing sea days, mouthwatering food, and stunning port stops. But the true highlight? The incredible friendships we made along the way! What started as a group of strangers from a travel Facebook group turned into something so much more. After 31 days together on this floating home, we became like family. It’s not goodbye—it’s see you later!"

"We have been on 2 world schooling cruises now. The first one was very last minute, and I admit, we booked soley because the deal was good good to pass up. Elena Ollick is great at that, finding you a lot of bang for your buck! And when I am getting a great deal, I would admit my expectations drop a bit, but we were so happy we did! On each cruise we have met so many wonderful families, and just like with any other part of life, we have met a few that we deeply connected with and can't wait to see again, and others we didn't have so much in common with, but still may be a fun familiar face on a future cruise! Our son is not a "big group" kind of guy, and we did worry he would get nothing out of this. On both cruises he has "found his tribe", and actually I think they have helped him enjoy the big group a bit more, but also helped navigate connecting more with a few, and finding opportunities to do things as a smaller group as well. So many of the kids have been wonderful at making sure any kid they see on the ship is included, whether they came with us or not! They have both been wonderful experiences we will talk about forever, and we look forward to our next."

"Elena does an amazing job of finding authentic, educational and family oriented excursions. We learned so much in Ecuador and Mexico and we're so grateful that the kids got to hear from people there and see how they live. I have lived abroad in Belgium and Japan, but had never taken a cruise or traveled in a group with my kids. I imagine we are all a bit neurodivergent in one way or another and one son gets anxious when traveling (mainly getting on and off planes) or in New/challenging environments. He also lives to perform and ask LOTS of questions, so we were usually asked to go along on school field trips etc as he can be a wild card. He did really well on all the trips and loved the cruise. The ability to spend time swimming, gaming, watching cool shows and getting awesome foods at the buffet is a big draw for the kids! I am a friendly introvert I guess you could say. I like people but tired out quickly, especially after getting long covid last year. The kids also have their limit. We never felt judged for laying low in the evenings or not doing all the group activities. It's a very flexible group and a great first cruise experience. I traveled in Korea, Mongolia and Russia with the Monkey Shrine Brothers with my husband 20 years ago after teaching in Japan. Even though it was a very foreign environment for us, every detail from the shuttle vans to the excursions were lead by friendly people who really cared about what they were doing. That makes all the difference between a potentially horrible trip and an amazing one--Elena has that same ability to find and nurture good relationships with local people and excursion operators who enjoy meeting travelers, love being ambassadors and educators for their culture. It's a once in a lifetime (or several times if you're lucky) when you get to have those experiences. Usually, you have to live abroad for a year to get that. I am so glad I was able to experience it with my kids. Definitely, give it a go! The ships are huge and full of things to do. We definitely could have stayed longer. If you are nervous about cruises, you can start with 1 or 2 weeks. There were actually only 20 outbreaks among thousands of cruises last year. Ships are required to report to the CDC or similar agency if 3 percent of say 5000 passengers get sick 'outbreak' --so it makes the news. As a Midwesterner growing up, the only thing I heard about cruises were the news stories about outbreaks so I was pretty paranoid. None of us got sick. If you wash your hands as instructed, it's pretty easy to avoid illness."

"I was excited to try something new. I love meeting new people and although traveling can be difficult with 5 kids (a baby and a child with disabilities) i am glad I was able to do it. When families come together to share one common interest homeschooling around the world it is amazing. The families were helpful and considerate towards us since my daughter has a special stroller/wheelchair. My kids say this is the only way they want to travel from now on."

"Ok so I never worried about fitting in as our family are extroverts and will talk to anyone, however even we were surprised just how well everyone got on. We have made some friends for life from all over the world and it has defiantly exceeded our expectations. We have now done 2 trips (transatlantic (our first ever cruise) & south Korea and Japan cruise, we are booked on another transatlantic in February, and Austrian mountain retreat in June) Our son is autistic, so I was worried about him fitting in or meltdowns but that didn't need to be my worry, it was that I never knew where he was because he had made soooo many new friends (it was easy to find out where he was when he didn't answer his phone as Elena just used the text jungle to everyone and one of our group knew where he was). I wasn't a solo mum but met many solo parents and would not think twice about doing one of Elenas world-schooling trip without my husband. It was so great that we knew so many people on the trip that we were never alone (unless we wanted to be), it was like one big family, and we have made so many new friends. On my first cruise my biggest worry was sea sickness, I bought every remedy possible from pills to bands and patches, but I didn't use anything after day 2 and never felt sick, we had 30 foot waves and I never felt the boat even move, apart from it rocking me to sleep on a night. My favourite part of the cruise was dinner together, the kids sit together at tables and the parents at other tables (but all close by). It was a chance to be an adult but also know my child was happy and didn't need me, watching the kids bond day by day and trip by trip is an amazing feeling. My son has become so much more independent, accepting, and confident since we took these trips. I would recommend anyone to take one of Elena's trips, there are trips for most budgets, and once in a lifetime experience that we will be taking more than once."

"Our Japan trip a few months ago was AMAZING!!! Parents and kids were all so welcoming! I had some apprehensions about joining a new group in which we knew no one. Especially since we weren’t able to join in much of the pre-trip chats, but from the first day on board, adults and kids melded right into the group. This trip far exceeded my expectations in every way and we can’t wait to meet up in Austria in a few weeks!"

"Stepping out into the Worldschooling community was one of the scariest things we have ever done; and it has turned out to be amazing. We took a leap a year ago when I was looking for other options for my granddaughter. I came across Elena Ollick and a cruise to Sydney, Australia. After only a couple days we were booked and looking forward. Did we originally think we just got hoodwinked, of course! But once we got our confirmation excitement set in! It also helped that when we made a change to our reservation Elena reached out to ensure everything was okay. We had no idea what to expect, worst case we get an affordable, all inclusive vacation to Oz. From the first group get together the night before the cruise we knew we had chosen right. Welcoming, kind, and knowledgeable, the people that formed our group have now become friends no matter where anyone is in the world. My daughter who had no interest in socializing at home, has friends she talks to daily. She feels she has found ‘her people’. My husband and I feel the same about the parents. There was no judgement about what we do, don’t do, or believe in. I have never felt more engaged than with the group of people I met on the cruise. They looked out for us, we looked out for them, and everyone’s main focus was on the kids (and hot tub!). Homeschooling (and it’s counterparts) is tough and parents can become overwhelmed, cruising has something for everyone in a safe environment. Kids can be kids and learn so much while the parents can get some much required ‘me time’. I feel humbled to be part of this community. With another 2 cruises on the horizon, and a retreat in Austria, I can honestly say we are in!"

"We had the best time & can only recommend such a trip with Elena’s groups, whether you are traditional, not, first time or seasoned cruiser! We took the kids out of school some days early before their midwinter break and met the group on the coolest ship I’ve ever seen (Icon of the Seas). We also hijacked my mom/ (grandma to the kids) so we can also spend some more time together (as we don’t live in the same country ) and she had a super time as well! * As a first time cruiser, this was the best way for us to experience a cruise - basically with some people who know the ins and outs of cruising. * My 3 kids had the best trip , they quickly linked up with the kids and were gone / made plans with many of the other kids, whether slides, pool or beach time, mini golf , arcade , snacks or wanting to meet at kids club. * Cool group - everyone was open and welcoming and had an interesting journey! The worst part was the trip ending, but we are actively cross checking our calendar and for another trip we can pull off (besides the “fire and ice” one … but summer 2026 is too far away!"

"As a single mom traveling overseas for the first time with my kids...my stress level was through the ROOF. I had been talking with Elena Ollick off and on for almost a year. I grew to adore her but was still terrified we wouldn't fit in with the group as a whole. We took the plunge and scheduled two back to back cruises(we had never even been on a cruise before) everyone was so welcoming and there were even other single parents too which put my heart at ease! I was hesitant because a lot of homeschooling/worldschooling groups are super religious and this was not that. I'm sure some of the group are very faith based but this was such an inclusive group that didn't focus on religion. I had looked at pictures of these trips and worried as an introvert if I would self implode. I'm happy to say that I did not, since then we already have another trip locked in and another one planned for next summer. Put your fears aside and give it one trip. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!"

"We recently returned from a transatlantic cruise to Spain, and I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. I traveled with my three kids—and even though we didn’t know anyone beforehand, except Elena Ollick, we felt instantly welcomed and included. This incredible adventure was beautifully organized Elena poured her heart into every detail, just like she does with everything. Thanks to her thoughtful planning, everything ran so smoothly—from group meetups to activities for the kids and those special in-between moments where real connection happens. The kids bonded almost instantly. Mine made friends within the first day, and by the end of the cruise, we had a whole new circle of people who felt like family. There was such a natural rhythm to everything: space to be free, time to be together, and moments of quiet joy watching the ocean roll by. The cruise itself was lovely—great food, friendly staff, and plenty of options for all ages and even picky eaters. The sea days gave us time to slow down, be present, and enjoy each other without the rush of daily life."

"Being a part of something wonderful! A group of like minded people, new friendships based on zero judgement, exotic locations, once in a lifetime moments, the list goes on. I found ‘my people’ on a Worldschooling cruise with Elena Ollick!"

"My first thought of joining a cruise with a bunch of people that I have never met before and worldschooling that I knew little about put me a bit on edge. I want my daughter to have experiences that are going to last and be meaningful. Meeting kids her age or slightly older and interacting with them are my highest concerns. This is where in my eyes kids grow exponentially from experiences shared. I want to stress that within 60 minutes of meeting a fraction of the families I was all-in. Everyone was so wonderful and friendly , my daughter immediately found a best friend within that time and the two were inseparable from then on. It did not stop there, the excitement, friends grew throughout. It has now been three months since our initial journey and our daughter talks about all the people on that trip on a daily basis. She can’t wait for the next time to see all of her friends. Since then we’ve scheduled two more cruises with the world schooling group, one land based after that and tentatively scheduled a few more. I can’t express how much this has opened our eyes to what the possibilities could be and thanks to Elena and team for making all of this happen."

"Hi all, we didn't get to say goodbye to many of you yesterday so I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed meeting you all and how grateful I was that my girls got to hang out with your kids and make some cool memories! Safe travels to everyone and maybe see you again on another trip!"

"Awesome Ranch with awesome people! This place is awesome. I had a beautiful cabin (#9) that had a fabulous view of the river. We saw a mouse one night and a coyote another. The food was great and plentiful, and they provided enough vegetarian options. The rides were awesome, especially cattle work, the long trail ride and team penning. All the staff was amazing, and the Kilmer family couldn't be nicer. I highly recommend this place. Make sure to take a hike as well. Our guide and driver, Jim, was the sweetest guy and very knowledgeable about the area, we saw 2 mouse and a bald eagle. I cried when we left. I know that I will return. It was a great vacation."

Maria

"Thank you very much to the whole group for a wonderful experience of traveling and learning together! And, SPECIAL GRATITUDE to Elena and Joe, our group leaders and organizers, for amazing accommodations, at a truly great value!"

Wren

"You know how people sometimes say "I could never be kidnapped... I talk and eat too much that the kidnappers would go broke trying to feed me and crazy from listening to me chatter on endlessly"? Elena and Joe could never be kidnapped either. But they know their isht, they're 1000% real and they're committed to this life. I think if they were kidnapped... the kidnappers would end up worldschooling with them... just folded into the tribe."

Tricia

"We just did a worldschooling trip with Elena Ollick and I went in with mixed expectations. I traveled when I was younger and always came home more mature, more worldly, more cultured, wiser in the ways of the world. I knew that my children would experience more than I could have ever offered them at home and from a book. I knew that whatever they learned from our trip would be something I could not measure. I knew that the kids would come home more experienced and more understanding of world language, cuisine, and history. What I didn't understand about worldschooling (and I certainly do now) is that the kids would make great friends, play games, have their own experiences that I wouldn't be part of and grow physically and mentally. As a homeschooling mom, I learned different ways kids learn, I got to hear new ideas that I could bring home and try with my kids. I made lifetime friends myself. I became a better mom and we became a stronger family. I cannot wait to worldschool again and I would highly recommend Elena and Joe Psyk. They made the trip amazing. They planned adventures out my comfort zone (that I absolutely loved) and made it easy for me to travel (it was just me and 3 kids). On top of all this, my husband is a risk manager and would have never let me travel alone. There is truly safety in numbers. Any reservations you have about worldschooling will quickly be quelled after one adventure. I hope I can schedule another one soon and hope you can come too! Aloha!"

"We are leaving tomorrow and heading back to Munich from where we fly home this Friday. What we had imagined for this trip was far exceeded by the reality. Trish you were spot on when you said you didn’t imagine you would make so many wonderful friendships so quickly. Austria still has an open ticket of places I want to see and experience. I felt like this was a bit like summer camp for adults as well. You come in a little nervous, unsure of what to expect (sharing your holiday with complete strangers-for some of us) and find that no matter where you came from we all love adventure, seek play (inner child), and are willing to challenge ourselves out of our comfort zones. I have memories with each member of this group (big and small). I loved watching how the group worked as a community taking care of each other always offering to help. Elena and Joe you fill a much needed void of helping people connect with other people. Allowing for a space to forget all things (political/social etc) and existing as humans and focusing on the essence of life. Cheers to a great trip!"

Daisha

"Thanks for an absolutely fabulous time together! We can’t wait too see everyone again in some part of the world!"

Sarah H

"Amazing Ranch Experience! I wasn't sure what to expect but was hoping for a wonderful adventure and new family vacation for the grand kids. Vee Bar ranch and staff exceeded my expectation in every way at every turn. The cabin was clean and rustic, the food from day one was delicious and hearty - perfect in every way (even for a finicky eater- they were happy to accommodate). The ranch grounds were neat as a pin and well cared for. The horses were matched to each of our riders abilities, from never on a horse to accomplished and the horses were healthy and responsive, whether walking or loping! The wranglers and cowboys - incredibly guest focused and not a single detail was missed- we loved their company and western knowledge! The hosts Brent and Kari and their children made us feel like part of the family and their children are absolutely precious and just as welcoming. Best activity? From the riding, tubing, cookout, hayride with live music, cattle drive, team pinning, sheep dog demonstration it's hard to find a favorite -it was all great and we'll be back!!"

Maria

"Thank you very much to the whole group for a wonderful experience of traveling and learning together! And, SPECIAL GRATITUDE to Elena and Joe, our group leaders and organizers, for amazing accommodations. I really appreciated the amenities and comforts of Mondi Bellevue Bad Gastein, at a truly great value!"

M Riess

"Yeehaw and Howdy! This place is a must! After a lot of research- and reading the reviews- VeeBar was our choice for a dude ranch and we were NOT disappointed. Our family goes on several week long vacations a year and my 8/10 year old girls said this is the BEST vacation we’ve ever taken. The itinerary for the days was perfect. Activities but not overloaded. Watching the horses come in, followed by breakfast and then a ride. Some down time (where the activities director, Jim) entertained the kids with games, tubing, archery, lunch, another horseback ride. Family games in the Saloon, dinner, and nightly activities. Couldn’t have been better."

Mary

"Our Austria trip was everything I’d hoped it would be. Before we even got on the plane, I told my husband, “If this works out, these worldschool tours may be how we travel for the foreseeable future.” The idea that I could go on a vacation that I didn’t plan myself, and actually enjoy each and every activity chosen for me, seemed too good to be true. But we love being outdoors, we love hiking, we love playing… so this trip seemed like a great fit. And we weren’t disappointed! Not only was the itinerary a blast, but this was the first trip in a long time that actually seemed like a vacation. This mama didn’t plan a single activity, cook a single meal, figure out any transportation… I was truly able to “vacate” and simply enjoy. The locations and hikes Elena and Joe chose were beautiful, the playgrounds and other kids’ entertainment kept my son occupied for days, and the spas were an awesome respite for my husband and me. We WILL be going back… and we WILL be booking future worldschooling adventures with Elena and Joe!"

Ashley

"THE. BEST. TIME! If anyone is thinking about signing up next year, DO IT! I could not imagine having a more fun 2 weeks! Elena and Joe worked so hard to put together an incredible trip and it shows!"

Barry

"We had never done anything like this before our April trip. IT WAS AWESOME! Our kids had such a great time and we loved being in a group and having a sense of belonging and understanding. Elena is legit and does a wonderful job putting these trips together. My family is so thankful that we found her."

Jocelyn

"It was kind of a leap of faith and, oh my goodness, my expectations were more than exceeded! Not only was the booking for reals, and Elena a real person, she is amazing! I don’t know how she does it, all that trouble-shooting and organizing and still she is a blast. Super fun and welcoming and full of love and positive energy. Go, go, go! You will not be disappointed!"

Dani

"No cast could ever hold back your spirit or stop you from being your genuine, kind, and appreciative self. ⁨Elena ⁩captured you and your family so perfectly with her words. The most special part of being in a group where people come together — even if it starts with just one thing in common — is discovering how powerful it is to simply come as you are. Despite all our differences and unique characteristics, God brings us together exactly because of that — to share, reflect, and see beyond our own perspectives through one another, and to grow beyond our own limitations. For sure, no mom or family passed by blank through my eyes; each one of you definitely taught me or reminded me of something special in my journey — and that is the beauty. He shapes us through each other and reminds us how important it is to walk this journey of life together. It’s always better when we have one another. Life is a journey, and it’s always better when we don’t walk it alone. It was definitely a summer camp for us adults (and I regretted not putting more effort into teaching yoga to the group — it would have been great to create space to integrate each day’s lessons). And for sure, the more we allow ourselves to be shaped and to learn, the more our children will be inspired to thrive in life. Moments like this genuinely bring out the best in both — we learn from our children, and they learn from us. Thank you, ⁨Elena ⁩and Joe Psyk⁩for the hard work of bringing the seeds God put in your souls to create this kind of experience for people. I know it’s not easy — it’s definitely something very special to work with people, but for sure, it’s not the easiest task. May God keep blessing your work so it continues to flourish, facilitating moments like this."
